I visited with my wife for a steak dinner. Our server was Matt. His attention to guests was exemplary and overall the restaurant's staff coordination was perfect. The food was coming at the right times and temperatures, steak was done the way we chose, and empty dishes disappeared from our table as if by magic. We enjoyed the dinner and will be back soon.

Just a quick review of the takeout service cause I haven’t sat down inside yet: did it all through the website. Super easy, paid right online. Food came out nice and fresh. Got it home, chicken was still hot and crispy. My only complaint was that the chicken wings were a little overseasoned so they were on the salty side. Other than that, so far so good.

We enjoyed drinks and appetizers here. The dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was stellar! My friend's bloody Mary was so good as well. And apparently they didn't hold back on the alcohol. He was tipsy part way through it! So much blue cheese stuffed and smeared on the olives! Damn. And the spinach dip with Parmesan cheese was amazing.

Visited Longhorn to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday. Matt was a phenomenal server who created a warm and welcoming environment, as well as walked us through each dish with knowledge of the courses that could be on par with a fine dining experience. Drinks and food were excellent, the filets melted like butter in our mouths and were seasoned perfectly, but my favorite part was the ice cream sundae at the end that was given on the house to celebrate. Will definitely be back!

On a recent trip to Maine, we stopped at the LongHorn Steakhouse for lunch. The location is perfect, right next to the highway. We did have a bit of a wait before someone noticed us at the host stand, but once we were seated, the rest of the experience was excellent. Our server was great. My steak was cooked perfectly and served with delicious mashed potatoes and corn. The shrimp was also good. It's a solid choice for a meal if you're traveling through the area.

I love this place. The wait was brief, despite being very busy. The waitress was fantastic and all of the waitstaff work together to make everything go smoothly. The warm bread with whipped butter they bring out is great. My steak - the outlaw ribeye - was perfect. Perfectly cooked and flavored. And big! There is no reason to pay 60 dollars for a steak dinner nowadays. Chains like LongHorn are knocking it out of the park for far less. There were three in my party. We all had drinks, steak, multiple extras, and dessert - for a final bill of only 160. The loaded baked potato was also done perfectly. And an amazing piece of cheesecake with strawberries to finish. The food was so good that I didn't bother taking a pic before eating it.

We visit this restaurant first time and enjoy being there. Food was good but very salty. The distroid taste of the our stakes. I inform the server about the prablem. He was suggesting to order the food next time last flavor. So if you don't like your food to be salty please do the. Maybe this will help you out with your next order. For as was already too late.

Welcome to Dakota, a delightful culinary destination nestled along the scenic Silas Deane Highway in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. This American steakhouse seamlessly marries the rustic charm of a log cabin with a modern twist, providing an inviting atmosphere that beckons both locals and visitors alike. As a food reviewer, I’m always on the lookout for hidden gems, and Dakota stands out as a prime example of a vibrant dining experience.

Dakota is known for its diverse menu that caters to various dietary needs, featuring gluten-free options and many vegetarian selections. The establishment is a haven for steak lovers but is equally accommodating for those seeking lighter fare. The wood-fired steaks, like the mouthwatering Mixed Grill—a splendid blend of mesquite-grilled chicken, jumbo gulf shrimp, and top sirloin—are sure to please any palate. The Atlantic Salmon, drizzled with a rich brown sugar soy glaze, adds a fish option that doesn't compromise on flavor.

One of Dakota’s standout features is its award-winning salad bar. Diners rave about its fresh, seasonal produce and a plethora of toppings. As the lovely review from William I. mentions, the salad bar is exceptionally well-prepared, offering everything from marinated salads to an assortment of toppings that ensure a personalized experience.

And let’s not overlook the desserts. A diner’s visit isn’t complete without indulging in Dakota’s signature Homemade Mud Pie, beloved since 1963. This decadent ensemble of coffee ice cream atop an Oreo crust, finished with chocolate fudge, mocha cream, and slivered almonds, is a treat you won’t forget.

  • Dining Experience: The ambiance is cozy, with a woodsy scent that evokes feelings of warmth and comfort. Guests often describe it as a cabin-style sanctuary, making it a perfect spot for casual dining.
  • Catering & Accessibility: Dakota accommodates various preferences, offering takeout, delivery, and catering options. The inclusion of outdoor seating, free Wi-Fi, and ample parking further enhances the experience.
  • Customer Service: The attentive staff, like Marissa, as highlighted in Ashwin S.’s review, exemplifies the welcoming spirit of Dakota, ensuring guests feel valued and well cared for during their visit.

Dakota isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a community staple where families gather for brunch, friends meet for dinner, and groups celebrate special occasions. With an impressive menu and a commitment to quality, this steakhouse continues to thrive as a favorite among diners in the Rocky Hill area. If you're seeking a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere, Dakota should undoubtedly be on your list. Whether you're stopping by for a weekend brunch or an evening feast, you’ll find something to love!
